Stress Type Agent

The Stress Type Agent is an innovative addition to SmartDiary, designed to help users understand and manage their stress by analyzing their diary entries to determine their predominant stress type. Understanding stress type is crucial as it allows for more personalized and effective stress management techniques.

Based on psychological research, stress can be categorized into several types, each with distinct characteristics and triggers. The Stress Type Agent will identify which type of stress a user most frequently experiences by analyzing the language, patterns, and context of their diary entries. Here are the stress types that the agent will focus on:

  • Time Stress: You feel worried about time or the lack thereof, often rushing and feeling pressured by deadlines.
  • Anticipatory Stress: This stress type is future-focused, where you feel anxious about what could happen tomorrow or further in the future.
  • Situational Stress: Often occurs in situations you don’t control, such as a job interview, a financial downturn, or a public speaking event.
  • Encounter Stress: Stems from worries about interacting with a certain person or group of people—whether it’s due to a need to impress them or because past interactions have been negative.

Each stress type will be identified based on specific cues and themes that appear in diary entries. For example, frequent mentions of feeling rushed or running out of time might indicate 'Time Stress', while expressions of worry about future events could suggest 'Anticipatory Stress'.

Once a stress type is identified, the Stress Type Agent will provide customized advice and coping strategies tailored to that particular stress type, such as time management techniques for Time Stress or mindfulness exercises for Anticipatory Stress. This targeted approach ensures that the suggestions are not only practical but also highly relevant to the user's specific needs.
